Hi! My name is Robin and this is my happy place! I am so glad your here with me! Well, the blog isn’t really my happy place specifically, but the Face Grace studio is definitely my happy place! There‘s a lot of pink there and “Pink is my signature color” 💁🏼♀️. (Name that movie!)
I‘ve been an esthetician since 2004. I feel like, at that point, esthetics hadn’t really become what it is today. So I didn’t really feel like I was doing anything substantial with my time and my life. I went back to college and got a degree in Exercise Science (which was super useful 🙄😂), with the intention of getting my doctorate in Physical Therapy. But, in the end, three more years of school sounded too brutal!
In 2014, my husband and I had our one and only baby and immediately left Kansas to come to Georgia so he could work at Gulfstream. As much as I adore our son, being a stay at home mom was just too hard for me! So when I finally accepted a position teaching esthetics in the area, I was so excited to back around people again! And back to my first love- skin care. While skin care is my love, teaching was not my cup of tea. 😂 But it got me back into the treatment room which is where I belong!
Working in the spa was great! I didn’t care too much for the products we used there though. I couldn’t seem to get the results for clients that we wanted. Between that and the frustration of n having control of my schedule, it was starting to feel like it was time to try something different.
Then one day, I was praying… normal, boring things. And I realized, the only things I ever pray for are things that I can do for myself. How am I supposed to have faith in a God I don’t need? So I decided to try something different. Let’s start praying for things outside of my wheelhouse. Things I can’t do on my own. Starting an independent esthetics studio wasn’t really on my radar yet. But, I guess that’s what happens when you let God out of the box to do His thing. So, less than four months after that prayer, I was holding the big scissors with my son and my husband cutting the ribbon in our studio.
It’s been an absolute whirlwind so far! But it’s made me feel really alive for the first time in a long time. Alternating between being really excited over the birth of a new business that I’m responsible for and being nauseous over the birth of a business that I’m responsible for. But I’m here doing it, hoping and praying for the best!
My goal for this studio is to always provide the absolute best customer service and to develop life long relationships doing so. I want to provide a place for people to absolutely relax and recharge. To take care of their skin and feel better about themselves, but to also help them see that their beauty goes beyond their skin and their worth doesn’t depend on their appearance. A bit of a contradiction in the beauty industry, but its definitely time for that contradiction!
I love skin care. I am a product junkie. I love different machines and the science behind all of it. I am excited to have the opportunity to care for skin in the best way possible! I am excited to make new acquaintances who turn into clients who turn into friends.
So if you are ready to take a little time for yourself. To destress, turn off your cell phone notifications, and let someone take care of you for a change. We need to chat! If you are dealing with acne, redness, aging (who isn’t!), dryness or just wanting to take better care of your skin to make sure you are always looking as good on the outside as you feel on the outside, let’s be friends!
I am so excited to go on this journey of self care and skincare with you!
